Re: PTO Nomination

Dear Parents and Teachers,

Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuhu,
Since the beginning of the year, many parents and teachers have come forth to physically, financially, and spiritually support our school. As a Principal, I feel that our school community is a huge asset that will, ISA, make Alhuda academy an even greater place for our students.
As part of a healthy learning environment, our students need to experience a variety of settings and skills. A well-rounded child needs to learn arts, health, literature, Math, sports, crafts, public speaking, and many other fields. We want our students to have a structured learning environment that will allow them to excel in academics. They, however, still need the relaxed setting, the colorful physical and social interactions, and the many other skills they will learn from extra curricular activities.
The following are some of the activities our PTO will be engaged in to make this happen:

After-school programs Fun fair
Food Fair After school club
Homework club Reading to students
Selling uniforms Bingo party
Eid party Eid carnival
Animal show Drumming / artistic shows
Movie night Garage sales
Box tops Grants
Finding free or cheap resources Fundraising
Yearbook Book Fair

Please take the time to choose people you know will take these positions to heart and will do an outstanding job. Positions are open to all parents and teachers. Fill out one form for both parents and return it no later than Monday, Dec. 5th. Election Day will take place on the 16th, ISA. May Allah reward you for your continuous support.

PTO Job Descriptions
2007/2008


 
  PTO President

The President will be responsible for the following by directly heading or delegating to other members with strict follow-ups:

Directly Heading:

  • The organization and Ex-Officio of all Chairs and Committees.
  • All activities of the organization.
  • Serving in an advisory capacity to the principal.
  • Responsible for all Donor relations.
  • Meeting and reporting to Principal with ideas, upcoming events, and necessary information.
  • Representing the P.T.O. with the local community.
  • Using volunteers as agreed with the principal.

May Delegate:

  • Heading all meetings.
  • Organizing and implementing all new activities/programs.
  • Running in school fundraisers.
  • Handling memberships.
  • Setting all schedules.



  •  
      Vice President

    The Vice President will be responsible for the following:

    • Fulfilling duties as requested by the President.
    • Keeping a detailed log (provided) of all information directly related to those duties.
    • Reporting to the President with all current information.
    • Replacing the President if absent in the periodical meetings with the Principal.
    • Sharing responsibilities with the President for all Fundraising as well as Donor Relations.


     
      Secretary

    The Recording Secretary will be responsible for the following:

    • Taking the minutes during PTO meetings.
    • Typing up the minutes and submitting them to the President.
    • Keeping a copy of the minutes on file.
    • Collecting and filing all reports.
    • Keeping a log (provided) for all activities, contacts, and members.
    • Keeping a current file box (provided) for all school/P.A. related paraphernalia.




     
      Treasurer


    The Treasurer will be responsible for the following:

    • Directly dealing with all money related issues and keeping a log (provided) of all transactions.
    • Handling all ordering of necessities.
    • Providing the President and Principal with money related reports and information requested.
    • Providing information at meetings during the Treasurer’s report.
