“He who obeys the Messenger has in deed obeyed Allah”

 Religion Fair:

Attached are the assigned topics for classrooms and individual students from upper grades. Please read the letter thoroughly and be ready to help your child throughout this process.

 Eid Carnival
This year’s carnival has been spiced up to include a big bazaar and a cultural food court. It will be open to the wider community. PTO has been working hard to make it successful.
Please save the date (Dec 15th from 12:00 to 8:00 PM) and invite your friends and neighbors.

 School closing on WBZ
The decision to close the school for inclement weather is made as early as possible. A message will be put on the school voice mail by 6:30am to confirm the delayed opening or cancellation for the day. WTAG and WSRS radio stations will also announce the closure or delayed opening of the school.
In addition, WBZ 1030 AM will broadcast cancellations at 05 and 35 minutes after each hour. WBZ-TV news will air cancellations at 5 AM and during CBS The Early Show program.

  Community service
Last Tuesday, students from grade 6 and 7 visited Bancroft for an orientation about the agencies they are serving. Yesterday students went to the actual agency sites and spent 3 hours outdoors.
Students who went to the Heifer project were able to learn about how Heifer sustains its help to poor communities around the world. They visited a model of a world village, and helped with the farm chores.
Students who went to Wachusett Greenways listened to an introduction about the sanctuary and how it’s funded. Then they were asked to cut and gather branches. Both groups learned a lot and enjoyed their service.

   Report cards
Expect to receive your child’s report cards (progress reports for Pre K and KG) on Monday ISA.

  Public speaking
Many thanks to both Quesiyah Ali and Yusuf Toropov for coming in to speak to our 6th and 7th grade students. Both presented to students and helped train them for an invigorating outcome. Mrs. Ali explained the structure of a debate and made clear connections to approaches that help create strong arguments.
Mr. Toropov provided examples for making presentations captivating and creating links with the audience. He emphasized the importance of having a clear goal from the audience.
Students’ final work will be demonstrated during their debate scheduled next Wednesday, Nov. 21st. Proponents will argue that television is not beneficial while opponents will argue that television is beneficial.

  Preschool trip
Preschoolers went to visit the fire station yesterday. They were able to learn about safety and what fire fighters do to help keep people safe. They had a wonderful time and enjoyed the trip.
Preschoolers were also visited today by a police officer to explain his line of work in ways preschoolers can understand. Great connections with community jobs.
