| The Math Club is held every Friday afternoon
in the eighth grade classroom.
The students do various Math activities and word problems
and learn different strategies to solve different kinds
of Math Puzzles and various brainteasers. They usually
work in teams, which gives them an opportunity to interact,
consult and learn from each other. The winning team or
exceptional performers are usually rewarded.
The Math Club students eventually participate in the American
Mathematics Competition, which is held every year. More
information on this Competition is available at http://www.amc8.org.
The purpose of this Club is to give an opportunity to
our advanced students to learn and be challenged, beyond
their daily curriculum. These students have tremendous
potential that needs to be enriched. It is also a good
forum to bring all the Math lovers together.
All the students are selected and invited to
attend on the basis of their scores in the Math Placement
Test.
